Cowgirls shut out Tulsa

STILLWATER – The No. 16/13 Oklahoma State softball team extended its winning streak to six games with a 5-0 victory over Tulsa Wednesday night at Cowgirl Stadium, powered by a three-run home run from Madison Hoffman and a one-hit, complete game shutout from Ruby Meylan.
OSU improved to 35-13, while Tulsa fell to 18-30.
Hoffman broke the game open in the fourth inning with her second home run of the season, a three-run shot to center.
The Cowgirls added two more runs in the sixth inning after an RBI triple from Hoffman and an RBI single from Aubrey Jones. Hoffman finished with a career-high four RBIs in the game.
Meylan (24-6) delivered her second one-hitter of the season, allowing just a lone infield single and matching a season high with nine strikeouts. She recorded her ninth consecutive complete game and extended her winning streak to 17.
Tulsa starter Maura Moore (10-16) pitched four innings and allowed the decisive home run to take the loss.
The Pokes close out the regular season with a weekend series against Kansas in Cowgirl Stadium. Game one is set for 6 p.m. CT Friday.
