Meylan sweeps Pitcher of the Week awards
April 28, 2026 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball's Ruby Meylan was named the Big 12 Conference, D1Softball, Softball America and NFCA/Wilson Pitcher of the Week following her 3-0 week in the Lone Star State last week.
The Big 12 leader in wins and innings pitched was the only pitcher in the conference to go 3-0 with a sub-1.00 ERA (0.76) this week, while tying for the most innings pitched among Power Four pitchers (21.0). Meylan began the week with a two-hit complete game at then-No. 7/4 Texas, becoming the first pitcher since 2021 to hold the Longhorns to two hits in Austin. That performance capped a seven-day stretch for Meylan in which she tallied four ranked wins (then-No. 1/1 Oklahoma, then-No. 16/16 Arizona x2) and became the first pitcher in OSU history to do so in a seven-day span.
She followed the gem in Austin with back-to-back complete games at Baylor to help lead OSU to its fifth-consecutive Big 12 series win. The senior right-hander gave up just two earned runs in 14.0 IP in Waco, surrendering 10 hits and striking out seven Bears.
Meylan has tossed eight straight complete games, making her the first OSU pitcher with eight or more CG's since her pitching coach, Carrie Eberle Parker (then just Eberle) had nine in 2020.
The Omaha, Neb., native is 23-6 on the season with a 2.20 ERA and 177 strikeouts in 193.2 innings pitched. She's won each of her last 16 decisions, which is the longest active streak in the country.
This marks Meylan's second Big 12/NFCA award sweep of her OSU career, and she's the second Big 12 pitcher to do so this season. It's the seventh Big 12 Pitcher of the Week award in her two years in Stillwater, which sets a new program record.
Meylan and the rest of the Cowgirls return to action against Tulsa at 6 p.m. CT on April 29 inside Cowgirl Stadium, before rounding out Big 12 league play with a three-game set against Kansas from May 1-3 in Stillwater.
