HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team made history on multiple fronts en route to an eight-shot victory at the Big 12 Championship at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
The Cowboys posted a closing 289 in cool and breezy conditions to finish at 10-under 1,110 and eight shots ahead of Arizona to claim their league-record 13th Big 12 title. Overall, OSU has now won 58 conference titles.
On the season, OSU has now won four times.
Individually, Preston Stout became the first-ever player to win three Big 12 titles, posting an even-par 71 to finish at 11-under 269 and three shots clear of the field. After sharing medalist honors as a freshman at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Texas, Stout repeated last year at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa before making it three in a row in Kansas.
For his career, Stout has seven victories to his credit and has won four of his last six starts this spring.
The junior began his day with seven consecutive pars before carding a double bogey at the eighth. He would card his first birdie of the day at the ninth to turn in 1-over 36. He remained at 1-over with bogeys at the 10th and 12th and birdies at the 11th and 13th. He would move back to level par for the day with a birdie at the 17th.
