STILLWATER — Oklahoma State head coach Steve Lutz has announced the signing of Luka Bogavac, a 6-foot-6 guard from Montenegro, to the Cowboys' 2026-27 roster.
The 22-year-old Bogavac (pronounced BO-guh-vahts) brings extensive international experience with two seasons in the Adriatic League and multiple appearances with Montenegro's junior and senior national teams. He made his NCAA debut last season at North Carolina, starting 21 games.
Lutz said:
"Luka has grown up in high-level basketball and has performed on some of the world's biggest stages. It shows in his game—he plays with poise, confidence and purpose. Paired with his size and shooting ability, he has all the tools to be a very good player at OSU."
Bogavac was a steady contributor last season for the Tar Heels, averaging 9.8 points while knocking down a team-best 52 three-pointers. He scored in double-figures 18 times, highlighted by a season-high 20 points on six triples in the home finale against Clemson.
Prior to his time in Chapel Hill, Bogavac competed with SC Derby in the Adriatic League – widely regarded as one of Europe's top basketball leagues. He enjoyed a standout 2024-25 season, finishing fifth in the league in scoring at 14.9 points per game while shooting 40% from three and 87% from the foul line.
Bogavac was part of a talented young core that claimed the 2024 Adriatic Super Cup and also enjoyed domestic success, winning the 2025 Montenegrin League regular season title and reaching back-to-back finals.
Several of Bogavac's SC Derby teammates have also gone on to play Division I college basketball, including Andrija Grbovic, Vladimir Sudar and the Illinois trio of David Mirkovic and twins Tomislav and Zvonimir Ivisic.
In 2024, Bogavac made his senior national team debut, competing in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament and FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers. At the junior level, he helped Montenegro to a bronze medal at the 2022 FIBA U20 EuroBasket and averaged 14.2 points per game at the 2023 event.
Bogavac attended high school in Belgrade, Serbia, and spent two seasons (2021–23) in the youth system of KK Mega Basket, one of Europe's premier development programs. His team, which included future NBA first-round pick Nikola Jovic, won the 2022 Junior ABA League title.
Bogavac is fluent in four languages – Montenegrin, Serbian, English and French. Before moving to Belgrade, he played for the club team in Strasbourg, France, coached by his father, Nebojša, a former Adriatic League MVP and Montenegrin national team member.
