Oklahoma State is the No. 2 seed at the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional and opens tourney play Friday against third-seeded USC Upstate. The Cowboys are making their 13th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance and 51st overall.
The Pokes are 37-20 on the season and finished fifth in the Big 12 Conference standings at 18-12. OSU won six league series, including its last four.
OSU is hitting .280 as a team and ranks second nationally with 137 home runs. The Cowboys' pitching staff sports a 6.24 ERA and has 558 strikeouts over 486 1/3 IP.
The 2026 season marks OSU's 14th under the direction of Josh Holliday, who earned his 500th career win on April 21 vs. Wichita State; he is the second-winningest coach in program history behind Gary Ward.
Host and No. 7 national seed Alabama brings a 37-19 record into the Regional. The Crimson Tide posted an 18-12 record in SEC play to finish tied for fourth. UA is making the 29th NCAA Regional appearance in program history. Head coach Rob Vaughn owns a 111-61 record in his three seasons at Alabama.
USC Upstate is 33-28 and earned a Regional bid as the Big South Conference champion. The Spartans are making their second consecutive and second-ever NCAA Regional appearance. In his second season leading the Spartans, head coach Kane Sweeney owns a 69-53 record.
Alabama State enters tourney play with a 34-21 mark. The Hornets captured the SWAC tourney title and are making the third NCAA Regional appearance in program history. Jose' Vasquez is in his 10th season as ASU's head coach and owns a career record of 295-216.
