Cowboy Basketball sets exhibition slate, including Homecoming Friday matinee

America's Greatest Homecoming just got even greater.

Oklahoma State will tip off Homecoming Friday with a 2:30 p.m. exhibition against Tulsa on Oct. 23 at Gallagher-Iba Arena, giving Cowboy fans an afternoon basketball lead-in to the school's annual Walkaround festivities.

The matchup is part of a three-game preseason exhibition schedule announced Wednesday. OSU will also host New Mexico on Sunday, Oct. 11, and travel to Wisconsin on Tuesday, Oct. 27, with tip times still to be determined.

Admission, parking and other game-day details for the two home contests will be shared once finalized.

New NCAA rules allow teams to play up to three preseason exhibitions against Division I opponents, an increase from two in previous years.

The New Mexico game caps another busy weekend on the Oklahoma State campus. Former Cowboy Basketball great Tony Allen will join a star-studded class at the 2026 OSU Athletics Hall of Honor induction Friday evening, followed by OSU football's Saturday matchup with UCF.

New Mexico and Oklahoma State will meet in Stillwater for the first time. The exhibition begins a home-and-home series that continues next preseason in Albuquerque. The Lobos, who last faced OSU in 2011, return the backcourt core from last year's 26-win NIT semifinal team.

Tulsa is coming off a 30-win season and NIT runner-up finish and enters 2026-27 with a retooled roster featuring nine newcomers.

Oklahoma State and Wisconsin have met just once, at a 1983 holiday tournament in Dayton, but will play exhibitions in each of the next two preseasons. The Badgers have made eight NCAA Tournament appearances in 11 seasons under Greg Gard, including each of the last three.

Oklahoma State enters year three under head coach Steve Lutz with the Big 12's top-ranked transfer portal haul, according to On3, and a consensus top-10 high school signing class.
