Cowboy Football collects five Big 12 weekly awards

STILLWATER – After a historic upset over No. 6 Oregon on Saturday, the Oklahoma State football team claimed five of the Big 12's six weekly awards on Monday.
The Cowboys swept the conference's player of the week selections on all three sides of the ball, as quarterback Drew Mestemaker was named Offensive Player of the Week, linebacker Ethan Wesloski took home Defensive Player of the Week honors and kicker Sam Keltner earned Special Teams Player of the Week recognition.
Oklahoma State also claimed both Big 12 Offensive Line of the Week and Big 12 Defensive Line of the Week honors.
In his Boone Pickens Stadium debut, Mestemaker accounted for 426 total yards of offense and three touchdowns, highlighted by a viral third-down scramble in the fourth quarter in which he sailed over a defender and held onto the ball while being flipped by another into the end zone. He finished the day with 426 total yards of offense, including a career-high 109 rushing yards. Mestemaker had 317 through the air, adding to his FBS-best streak of 17 straight games over 200 yards.
Linebacker Ethan Wesloski captained a Cowboy squad that limited Oregon's high-powered offense to just 90 yards on 30 carries and held quarterback Dante Moore to a 22.4 QBR, his lowest in a start during his Oregon career. Wesloski led all players with nine tackles and added an assisted sack and a pass breakup to his final statline.
Kicker Sam Keltner was a perfect four-for-four on field goal attempts, setting a new career high and becoming the first Cowboy kicker to make four or more field goals in a game since Alex Hale did so against No. 23 Kansas in 2023. Keltner finished with a career-best 15 points scored, capped off by a game-sealing 31-yard field goal in the fourth quarter that gave OSU an eight-point lead.
The Oklahoma State offensive line paved the way for an explosive day of rushing, guiding the Cowboys to an average of 5.9 yards per carry over 40 carries. The unit was also elite in pass protection against one of the top defensive lines in the country, allowing zero sacks on 43 pass attempts. It was the first time since 2020 that any team in college football has had a 300-yard passer and multiple 100-yard rushers in a game against an AP top-10 team.
A stout performance from the defensive line included 4.0 sacks and five quarterback hurries. The Ducks did not record a rush longer than 14 yards and averaged just 3.0 yards per carry, marking just the seventh time in the Lanning era that Oregon was held to that average or less.
