Mestemaker earns several national awards for week two performance

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State football's Drew Mestemaker was named a Manning Award Star of the Week, Davey O'Brien Award Great 8 recipient and Burlsworth Trophy Walk on of the Week winner on Monday morning following the Cowboys' monumental victory over No. 6 Oregon on Saturday afternoon.

The Austin native racked up 426 total yards of offense, netting 317 passing yards, his first 300-yard passing game as a Cowboy, and 109 rushing yards, the most by a Cowboy quarterback since the 2022 Fiesta Bowl and the first against Oregon since 2016. His rushing was highlighted by a 75-yard run on OSU's opening offensive play which marked the longest run by a quarterback in the Power 4 this season and was named the No. 1 play by ESPN's College Football Final.

His 426 yards of total output marked the highest total offensive output against an AP-top 10 team since Sep. 28, 2024, where Georgia's Carson Beck and Alabama's Jalen Milroe did it against each other.

Mestemaker kept his streak of 200-yard passing games going, hitting his 17^th straight, the longest active streak in the FBS. Seven of his 26 completions were of at least 15 yards, highlighted by a 52-yard bomb to Wyatt Young for a touchdown.

Mestemaker and the Cowboys return to action next week against Murray State at Boone Pickens Stadium.
