Morris tabbed Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football head coach Eric Morris was named the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week after the Cowboys' 39-31 upset victory over No. 6 Oregon last weekend.
Morris steered the Cowboys to a dominant win over the Ducks in his Boone Pickens Stadium debut as the Pokes outgained Oregon 554-281 and held possession for almost 37 minutes to the Ducks' 23. The Cowboys tallied 25 first downs in the win while limiting Oregon to just 12.
The first-year OSU head coach guided an OSU offense that had a 100-yard running back, 100-yard receiver and a quarterback who passed for 300 yards and rushed for 100 yards for just the second time in program history. Caleb Hawkins rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown, Wyatt Young notched seven catches for 121 yards and a score and Drew Mestemaker turned in a career performance with 317 yards and two touchdowns through the air while adding 109 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
The win ended a 41-game winning streak against unranked opponents for Oregon, and extended OSU's home-opener win streak to 31 games, the longest active streak in the nation.
Morris and the Pokes are back in action against Murray State at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, at Boone Pickens Stadium.
