Hoyt, Oklahoma State agree to contract extension

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's basketball coach Jacie Hoyt has signed a contract extension that will keep her at the helm of Cowgirl Basketball through the 2030-31 season.
Hoyt has overseen the program's national resurgence with three NCAA Tournament berths in her four years in Stillwater, including back-to-back appearances in 2025 and 2026, a first for OSU since 2015 and 2016. The Cowgirls are coming off a season that saw them set a school scoring record with 81.1 points per game while securing OSU's first NCAA Tournament win since 2021 with an 82-68 victory over Princeton before falling to the eventual NCAA Champions, UCLA, 68-87, in the second round.
Hoyt and her staff followed the 24-win campaign by landing the nation's No. 1 transfer class and retaining three-time All-Big 12 performer Stailee Heard ahead of the 2026-27 season.
"Coach Hoyt has successfully guided our program through the changing landscape of college basketball and has continued to build Cowgirl Basketball into one that contends for conference championships and consistently plays and advances in the NCAA Tournament," OSU Athletic Director Chad Weiberg said. "We're excited about this upcoming season and the future under her leadership."
The Cowgirls have tallied 84 wins in Hoyt's four years in charge, including 10 over opponents ranked inside the top 25 in the AP Poll, along with three top-four finishes in Big 12 play since 2022-23. A staple of Hoyt's tenure in Stillwater so far has been dominance at home, evidenced by OSU's 57-10 record inside Gallagher-Iba Arena since her arrival.
She's coached two honorable mention All-America performers and 11 All-Big 12 honorees, and has overseen 13 Academic All-Big 12 selections in her four years in Stillwater.
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this program and representing Oklahoma State," Hoyt said. "Stillwater has become a home for me and my family, and I'll never take for granted the trust and belief that has been placed in me by our administration, specifically Chad Weiberg and President Hess. I'm incredibly proud of the progress we've made as a program, but I've never believed more in what we're building than I do right now. The best part is knowing we're not finished."

Hoyt was named a WBCA National Coach of the Year finalist in 2024-25 after leading the Cowgirls to 25 wins, the third-best total in program history, and a program-record 14 wins in Big 12 play. The Pokes climbed to No. 17 in the AP Poll that season, their highest ranking since 2016.
OSU has racked up 49 wins in the past two seasons under Hoyt, which is a program record for wins in a two-year stretch.
Hoyt opens her fifth season in Stillwater with an exhibition contest against Langston on Oct. 27, followed by the regular-season opener against Southern on Nov. 2. Both contests will be played inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
