Named Academic All-Big 12 First Team… Named ITA Scholar-Athlete… In singles play, went 7-5, six wins on court 3… In doubles play, went 3-1 with Alessio Basile.
2022-23 (Junior Season)
Maintained a 7-3 record in singles action… Went undefeated with a 5-0 mark on court five… Posted four doubles wins with teammate Carl Roothman… In doubles play, went 3-1 on court three and 1-1 on court four.
2021-22 (Sophomore Season)
First season as a Cowboy, went 12-9 in singles… Started the season with four consecutive victories… Assembled a seven-match win streak from Feb. 12 through March 11… Lost only one match in his first 14 matches.
2020-21 (Freshman Season at Texas)
As a freshman at Texas in 2021, went 4-0 in spring singles matches… Finished the season 5-11 overall in singles and 4-4 in doubles… Won the Flight 3 Singles Championship at the Alabama Spring Shootout… Posted a perfect 3-0 record at the event, winning all matches in straight sets… Recorded a 3-3 doubles record during fall play… Reached the finals of his doubles draw at the ITA Texas Regionals.
Prior to Oklahoma State
Ranked as a Blue Chip recruit for five years… Consistently ranked in the top 10 of his class since 2014… Won the Gold Ball in singles at the 2019 USTA 18s National Clay Court Championships in Delray Beach, Florida… Qualified for the U.S. Open Junior Championships with that victory… Earned Bronze Balls in doubles at the USTA National Winter Championships in 2018 and 2019… Was a singles and doubles finalist at the 2019 Irvine Grade 4 ITF… Won the doubles title and was a singles finalist at the 2018 Evert American Grade 4 ITF in Boca Raton, Florida… Has won four ITF doubles titles… Finalist at the USTA Easter Bowl in 2015 and 2017.
Personal
His mother, Louise, played tennis at Trinity University in San Antonio where she was a four-time All-American (1981-84) and won the 1983 NCAA Doubles Championship … that year, she received the Broderick Award as the top collegiate women's tennis player … she reached as high as No. 65 in the WTA rankings and played in all four Grand Slam tournaments, advancing to the third rounds of Wimbledon in singles and the U.S. Open in doubles in 1983.
