At the beginning of each season, especially this season with so many new faces, each and every fan who goes to the basketball games begins to learn about these players. As time goes on, you start to become familiar with each of them. They start to leave lasting impressions. They become part of our families as well. I feel like I have lost members of my family because of this tragedy. I am proud to be a part of the OSU family. In this time of sorrow and grief, may God bless everyone connected to the University with his spirit.

I am an avid Sooner fan. But when I saw this on ESPN from New Mexico, I truly got sick at my stomach. All rivalry aside, human life is more important than any sporting event. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the victims and with the university family. God Bless!!
Michael R. Bary (1974)

This is a very tragic event, but to have something like this associated with OSU is hard to accept. I associate college with a time to prepare young people for the rest of their lives. To have young lives end this way is just not the way it should be. My son goes to OSU today. I have spoke with him and he is very shaken. He is a man of God and that will help him through this. My prayers and thoughts are with the individuals families and the OSU family. Michael R. Bary

Coach Sutton and all of the OSU Family: Please know our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. With the close ties we have to OSU through Coach SUtton and Terry Don Phillips, it feels like we feel a stong loss also. May God give you all peace.

I have watched Nate Fleming play basketball since he was 12 years old. Even then, he was a fiery competitor on the court. When he wasn't playing with my brother, he was playing against him. Nate came out the victor on most occasions. His best side, however, was off the court--at our house or at dinner. Never once did he talk trash; he only was your friend regardless of the outcome of the game. He always showed us how trivial and small the game of basketball was in comparison to friendship and life. It has been an absolute joy to watch Nate grow into the man that he had become. Christ was the center of his life, not basketball. He is being rewarded by his Lord right now, so we have now sorrow for you Nate. We only have sorrow for ourselves, who can no longer watch you play and watch you live.

My prayers will be with Oklahoma State and the families of each member lost. The Lord is in control and He will give you strength through this rough time.

I, too, know what it is like to be informed of such a tragic loss, as three family members (and three others) perished in a plane crash almost ten years ago. Please remember that, though their impact on your lives will never fade, the hurt, in time, will diminish. And you will never forget them -- you will FOREVER have vivid memories of your loved ones. My prayers are with you all for ample time to mourn now, and a lifetime of healing and growth.
Scott Joyner, Dir. of Athletic Development
Rice Univ. Houston
Those of us in the family of college athletics mourn your loss and at the same time, appreciate the dedication of athletic staff and student athletes alike. Words cannot express this loss, but they can express the love that these individuals had for their work and that there work excited alumni and fans across the nation. God bless OSU.

I, as I'm sure all alumni that work with Chad Weiberg, express our deepest sympathy to him and his family during this time. I pray for peace and comfort to Stillwater and the OSU campus, because I know that we're all family through OSU. My sincerest sympathy to the families of those on board, knowing that there are others that would have traded places with thier loved ones, in order for them to live. God bless you all.

My heart and prayers go out to the Family of OSU. As an OSU and OU fan & a gal born & reared in Southern Oklahoma, it always hits me hard anytime something terrible happens to Oklahoma--the OKC bombing, the tornadoes, etc. And this, too, even more so, because I work in the Athletic department at the University of Arkansas. So, I feel the loss twice as much cause it could have happened to us, too. I know that it will take a very long time for the OSU family to overcome this tragedy, but with God's prayers and love from the Oklahoma community you will survive this. The people in Oklahoma are gutsy people and we have a lot of faith and love to endure any trial that God or any others could put before us. My prayers with Coach Sutton and the team and with the families of the other gentlemen lost. Put your faith in our Heavenly Father. He will get you through this, I promise. Peace and love be with you.

My condolensces go out to the families of the ten that lost their lives on Saturday. I grew up with Will Hancock and while it had been four years (high school reunion) since I last spoke to Will, I grieve his passing. Will was one of the true nice guys that you could have the honor of knowing. He always had good things to say about people and I'm sure he made a lot of friends wherever he went. My heartfelt sympathies go out to his wife and young daughter, may God bless them. Deepest Sympathies, Eric Freberg

Dear Families,Students, staff and fans, I send my sincere condolences for the loss of your team members and staff. I can truely tell you that I understand how you feel; I was a student at Marshall University when we lost our football team to a plane crash. It is a tremendously tragic event and my heart goes out to you. Please love each other, and take comfort in the fact that there are those that have been where you are and have worked through the terrible days. Time heals but you will always have a special feeling for your players and fans. Let this tragegy bring you together and make you stronger. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

As someone involved in DI athletics I know the sacrifices that are made by staff and athletes in order to share and compete for the love of the game. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone at Oklahoma State, my sincere condolances to the family and friends for the loss of their love ones.

I attended Oklahoma State up until this past fall. I was always an avid Cowboy fan, and still am. I wake up every morning checking the scores to see how my Cowboys did, and watch the game when they are on TV. I woke up Sunday morning to check the scores from the previous day, and instead I learned of the tradegy. Instead of the usual smile that spreads across my face, there were tears. The headlines said there were two players that died in the crash, but in my eyes there was three. My freshman year I remember Jared Weiberg was a player. Jared sat in the row in front of me in my history class. I don't remember if we ever spoke, but I do remember watching him at the games. He always sat at the end of the bench, and cheered louder and jumped higher than anyone else. He was the first to slap hands with the guys coming off the court. He always had so much energy. Even though he didn't get to play often, I sure he was happy to be a part of something he loved. His spirit always made me smile. As a Oklahoma State student, I send my prayers to the friends and families of these men. They were great men, and will be greatly missed.

My thoughts go out to all of those on that plane, but especially to Brian Luinstra's family. Brian was a friend and a colleague of mine. More importantly, he was an outstanding person. Why such people are taken away from us in such an untimely manner may always be a mystery.

We were at Wednesday's game for Nate Fleming. We spoke with him and his parents also introduced us to Daniel Lawson and Pat Noyes. Little did we know that God would call of these people home. We will miss Nates infectious smile, his big heart, and his love for life, family and friends. Even though he sat on the bench most of the time, he was as much a player on the court as the rest of the team. It did not bother him, for he always, put others first. We grieve his loss along with the rest of the OSU family that was lost.
Cindy Bramlett

I am deeply sorry that this tragic event occurred and took the lives of these wonderful people. As an OSU alumni, I know the students and faculty at OSU have had their hearts broken by the loss of everyone involved. Please know that all of the families and friends of the victims, as well as the students and faculty of OSU are in my thoughts and prayers. I will especially miss Bill Teegins as the voice of the Cowboys. He brought such an enthusiam to his work and he will be greatly missed.

As a sportswriter for the Auburn Citizen, I was at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse last March when Oklahoma State played Seton Hall and Florida. On Saturday before the Florida game, I was assigned to do a story about the Cowboys' long stay in New York, so I found Will Hancock. He was a perfect gentleman, very patient. He gave me a detailed rundown of the team's intinerary the previous 10 days. When I heard he was on the plane Saturday, I was devastated. I remembered him for his kindness. God bless his wife and family. My prayers are with you.
Cody Riddell
Mustang, Oklahoma
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I was a friend of Nate Fleming in high school, I was an opponent of his in basketball, I am from mustang and we played Edmond North many of times. Me and Nate always had some good laughs. Although I have not spoken to Nate since high school I still consider him a friend and he will be missed. I pray for his family deeply. Not only will Nate be missed all of the other 9 people will also. The voice of the cowboys "Bill Teegins" I grew up listening to him and I don't think I will Ever forget the sound of hi s voice. All 10 of these men are resting in heaven right now watching over all of us, waiting to see us all again. With Love To You All. Cody

It still feels like a bad dream. i'm just having a hard time believing that i'm never going to hear bill teegins' voice again. listening to the play-by-play will never be the same. never. everyone on that plane will be missed and never replaced. why do things like this happen? i'll never know...i don't think anyone does. all i can do is pray to God that He gets me and everyone else through this. we miss and love you guys! go pokes!

Words can not do justice to heal or even mend the hearts that are grieving today. We, the state of Oklahoma, has lost a friend, athlete, and personnel that made OSU the glory that is. We will trully miss the importance that each of these men played in all of our lives.

Our hearts are so deeply saddened for the families involved in this tragedy, as well as the basketball team and the entire University. To the Oklahoma State University and the citizens of Oklahoma. My heart filled with love and respect go out to everyone there that was affected by such of a tragedy. I live in Baltimore, and something tells me that its all about being happy that my city captured the superbowl championship title, but at the same time its hard to fill that way when a tragedy takes away your joy so may I say that no matter wher we come from this is a time for us being Americans to stick together as one nation and carry this thing together.

From an Aggie who grieved and cried over the loss of our bonfire victims, I can only say that I truly feel your pain and suffering in this trying time. Remember to focus on the victims and their families, not on why or how the tragedy occured. Let this tragic event only bring you closer as a family, community, and university. Basketball is not really very important is it? Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all the victims in this time of sorrow. I knew Will Hancock's dad and know what a wonderful father-son relationship they had. Bill and Nicki had will much longer than his wife and two month old daughter who must now grow up without her father. May God's love comfort the families left behind and may they find strength in the understanding that their loved ones have gone to be with Jesus.

My heart goes out to the families of those cherished friends and loved ones that I am sure you miss greatly, already. The prayers of many in our state and in our university are with you at your time of need. Here in Kentucky, where many people like to consider themselves part of the family and tradition of Kentucky basketball, we know that there are more than just 12 men and a coach on a team. There are many who contribute to the life of a program and I, personally hope and pray that you may find comfort through this tragedy that has affected your families, your school, and your state. We grieve with you. God bless you all. stevemack34@hotmail.com
