STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team ran its record to 7-0 on Thursday night with a 98-35 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff in front of 2,203 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls raced out to a 19-3 lead over the Golden Lions (0-10) in less than five minutes. OSU's run was fueled by freshman Liz Donohoe. The Edmond, Okla., native scored 16 of the squad's first 22 points en route to a career-high 27 points.
Leading 22-11, OSU reeled off the game's next 18 points to build the lead to 29 with six minutes left in the half.
Behind Donohoe's 22-point outburst, the Cowgirls went into the half leading 53-17.
In the second half, the Cowgirls limited UAPB to an 18 percent (6-of-33) shooting clip from the floor, while raising their own shooting percentage from 50 percent in the first half to 52 percent in the closing period.
OSU was impressive from beyond the 3-point line in the second half, hitting eight of its 13 treys. For the game, the Cowgirls connected on 14 3-pointers to match the school record set on Jan. 3, 2009 against Texas-Pan American.
OSU narrowly missed its first 100-point outing since reaching the century mark against Mercer on Dec. 19, 2009.
Sophomore Tiffany Bias logged her third double-double of the year, finishing with 12 points and 12 assists. The Andover, Kan., native's assist total matched her career high for the third time this season.
