Final Score: Oklahoma State 64, No. 20/19 Baylor 53
Oklahoma State Coach Travis Ford
On the rebounding effort in Tuesday's win over Baylor:
"I'll take it against this team every game. Our guys battled and showed a lot of toughness. I'm very proud of how they responded. We were very happy at halftime with where the rebounding was. We even told our guys that (Baylor was) going to get some rebounds, but that just couldn't be the thing that brings them back. We didn't do as good of a job in the second half on the three-point shot, and that's another thing we want to do a better job of, but we did well enough. I'll take that margin over one of the top rebounding teams in the country every game. If we play that hard and keep showing the toughness that we showed tonight, this team has a chance to be pretty good."
On Michael Cobbins:
"He's just a warrior, a complete warrior. He's getting back to being that difference-maker that we know he can be and being one of the better defenders in the league. Protecting the rim, rebounding, a great one-on-one defender and he helps so many guys out. He erases a lot of mistakes. I thought he had a good offensive game. He was active and he made some good passes. He and (Anthony) Hickey were the difference-makers."
On Anthony Hickey's performance:
"His 10 assists were great, but I thought their point guard Kenny Chery was playing probably as well as any point guard in our league, maybe the best of any point guard. He was 3-for-13. (Hickey) pretty much did it himself. He played 37 minutes. That is what he is here for. That is what he is capable of doing. Anything less than that, he is underachieving and our team will underachieve. (It helps our team) when he's locked in defensively, getting assists and making big shots. He had an incredible stat line: eight points, 10 assists, four rebounds, two steals and he holds one of the best players in the league to six points."
On the production from Tavarius Shine and Jeff Newberry in the small forward position:
"I'll take that. I'll definitely take that from those two guys. Shine made some big shots in the second half, and the first half. Shine made a nice move in the first half and finished on the break. This game is really not hard to figure out. If we don't get production from these guys, we don't win. If we get it, we'll have a chance to win."

On holding Baylor to season-low scoring:
(Cobbins) "A lot of ball pressure. Everybody was locked in, seemed to be locked in to their job and the whole team seemed to play as one unit tonight."
On Rico Gathers:
(Cobbins) "It's a big challenge, once that man is planted, it's pretty much said and done. You just have to fight him with the boards, if not, then you just have to go get the ball."
On getting a big win before Bedlam:
(Cobbins) "It's good, heading in with some positive momentum. It gives us a little confidence as well. We have to move on from this game though. This game doesn't matter, it is the next game. We have to be well-prepared for the next one."
On preparing for the game against Baylor:
(Cobbins) "Everybody took it more seriously and realizing at the point of the season we are at now. Everybody knew we had to come back from a loss and respond. During every media timeout you would hear somebody in the huddle say, 'let's take it up another notch, let's get re-locked in,' it's great to hear teammates and other people say that to us, so we can get going."
On preparing for Buddy Hield next game:
(Shine) "We have to lock-down. He hits some tough ones, he's a good player. We are going to come out and play our defense and we are going to see how it goes."
(Cobbins) "We have to be more locked in, challenge more of his shots and be more physical with him."
Baylor Coach Scott Drew
On struggling offensively:
"You're not going to win many games when you shoot 34 percent from the field and 30 percent from three and 60 (percent) from the free throw line. Unfortunately, the one thing we normally do is offensive rebound and we were out manned and out gunned tonight on second chance points. I couldn't remember that happening all year long, but statistically Oklahoma State is very good at defensive rebounding (one or two in the conference). They did a better job than us on the boards, we didn't make some shots. That's where you've got to give some credit where credit is due - they had some guys step up and make shots tonight that were really impressive because throughout the season at times, that's been their struggle is that they've been very good defensively and on the glass, but multiple guys stepping up and giving them production that they got from them tonight."
On not having balance offensively:
"Royce (O'Neale) and Kenny (Chery) weren't pleased with how they shot it and it's tough to win on the road with those two guys shooting (like that)."
On not finding a rhythm on offense:
"They (OSU) did a very good job of being very physical. We couldn't normally get some buckets in transition. Inside, it seemed like all night we just didn't have many easy things. I thought in the first half when we had that lead up to 15-14, I thought everything was under control and after that they broke away and we really just never gained (momentum)."
On moving forward to face Texas:
"No question, and that's why we have bounced back successfully so far this year and that's what we've got to keep doing because we all know how tough it is to win on the road. The key is to protect home court and that's why fans we can't thank you enough for how you have supported us this year."
