Cowgirl Catalyst: Heard Stars on N7 Night Against ORU
November 09, 2025 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER – Stailee Heard ignited OSU's 50-point win over Oral Roberts on N7 night.
Heard played for a little more tonight. Heard is a citizen of Seneca Cayuga and a descendant of 11 other indigenous tribes. N7 night is designed to help promote and spread indigenous culture during Native American Heritage month.
"It honestly means everything," Heard said. "Just to have my family and just show everyone what our heritage and what our culture is like and, honestly, it's probably my favorite game of the year. It doesn't matter who we're playing, but just the meaning behind it means everything."
With that on her heart, the Cheryl Miller Award watch list member put up 13 points on 6-9 shooting from the floor on a night where six other Cowgirls also entered double-digits. Heard dished it out as well, putting up three assists, just a fraction of OSU's whopping 30 assists.
"All we talk about is how we play fast and aggressive, and honestly," Heard said. "It shows out here on the court, how connected we are and how we fight for our fight for each other."
The Sapulpa, Okla., native played just 17 minutes of action against the Golden Eagles and most of her offense shined in the first quarter, putting up a quick eight points in the first 10 minutes of action. Heard's effort on the defensive end showed as well, ripping two steals off the Golden Eagles, helping the Cowgirls hold Oral Roberts to just 62 points.
Heard and the rest of Cowgirls will return Tuesday morning for a battle with Prairie View A&M.
"Just thank you guys for coming," Heard said. "We'll see you guys' next Tuesday. Keep showing up for us. Go Pokes!"
