Oklahoma State from a Distance
Sitting at 30-17 overall and 10-9 in Big 12 play entering this week, the Oklahoma State softball team is in search of momentum as it heads into the final week of the regular season.  The Cowgirls faced the nation's toughest schedule for the first few weeks and came out of it with wins over No. 9 Florida State, No. 23 Kentucky, No. 5 Texas A&M and No. 12 Alabama, among others. An 11-game win streak highlighted by wins over No. 18 Nebraska and Missouri, brought the Cowgirls' record to 15-4 in early March. Since then, however, consistency has been elusive, and the Pokes have gone 11-9 in their last 20 contests.
Washington transfer Ruby Meylan, an All-American with the Huskies in 2023, has been outstanding in the circle and ranks in the top 20 nationally in wins, strikeouts, earned run average, shutouts and innings pitched. She is the Big 12 leader with six shutouts and 175.1 innings of work and ranks third with 19 wins. With 210 strikeouts entering this week, she's already etched her name into OSU's single-season top 25 and needs seven more to move into the top 15. Her 8.4 strikeouts per seven innings rank 13th on the Oklahoma State single-season chart.
Offensively, five Cowgirl regulars bat .300 or better, with Tia Warsop leading the way at .369 with 19 stolen bases. Cal State Fullerton transfer Megan Delgadillo bats .333 and leads the Big 12 with 27 stolen bases and has already cracked into OSU's single-season top 10. Delgadillo is the NCAA Division I active career leader in games played, at bats and stolen bases. NC State transfer Amanda Hasler is OSU's top power bat with 14 home runs and a .734 slugging percentage. Rosie Davis has emerged as one of the Big 12's most complete players, as she bats .348 with eight home runs, a team-best 46 runs batted in and a .451 on-base percentage. Veterans Karli Godwin, Tallen Edwards and Megan Bloodworth have also been productive.
Â
