OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will resume its fall slate this weekend when it takes part in the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at historic Olympia Fields Country Club.
The Cowboys will be one of 15 teams in action at the par-70, 7,353-yard layout. The 54-hole event will be contested over three days with the first round getting underway on Friday morning. The Cowboys will be grouped with Illinois and Alabama with play getting underway at 8:00 a.m.
OSU's starting five will consist of juniors Ethan Fang, Eric Lee, Gaven Lane and Preston Stout as well as senior John Wild.
Head coach Alan Bratton's squad got its season underway last month with a runner-up finish at Carmel Cup. The second-place showing saw the Cowboys' win streak come to an end at five in a row, but OSU has now finished first or second in 11 of its last 12 starts.
Fang did pick up his first career win, sharing medalist honors at Spyglass Hill Golf Course. The following week, he and Stout represented the victorious U.S. side at the Walker Cup.
The Cowboys have a pair of Fighting Illini titles to their credit, winning the event in 2007 and 2018. Additionally, four OSU standouts have captured medalist honors with Rickie Fowler, Trent Whitekiller, Peter Uihlein and Matthew Wolff all finishing atop the leaderboard.
Live scoring for the event will be available at gofstat.com.
