EUGENE, Oregon – The Oklahoma State football team lost to No. 6/5 Oregon, 69-3, in Autzen Stadium Saturday.

The Cowboys fell to 1-1 overall while the Ducks improved to 2-0.

Oregon jumped on the Pokes with two touchdowns in the first 96 seconds of the game and never looked back, holding a 20-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, a 41-3 advantage at halftime and a 69-3 advantage after three quarters.

The Ducks outgained the Cowboys, 631-211, and averaged 10.2 yards per play to OSU's 3.5. Oregon won the turnover battle, 2-0 and committed six penalties to OSU's eight. The Ducks had 10 offensive plays of 20 yards or longer and five plays of 40 yards or longer.

The 66-point margin of defeat was the largest for Oklahoma State since 1907. Oregon's 69 points scored were the most for an OSU opponent since Texas beat the Cowboys, 71-14, in 1996.

Making his first collegiate start, Cowboy quarterback Zane Flores completed 7-of-19 passes for 67 yards. Kalib Hicks rushed 14 times for 63 yards and Trent Howland carried six times for 31 yards. Defensively, Bryan McCoy Jr. had a team-best nine tackles, with Brandon Rawls adding eight.

Following a bye week, Oklahoma State returns to action when it hosts Tulsa at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 19 in Boone Pickens Stadium.
