Cowgirls, Gamecocks to be televised nationally on ABC
October 01, 2026 | Cowgirl Basketball
OSU becomes one of 20 teams ever to be showcased on the network during the regular season.
STILLWATER – The highly anticipated women's basketball matchup between Oklahoma State and South Carolina will be broadcast to a network TV audience on ABC, it was announced today.
The contest is one of nine women's games on ABC this season and one of just 31 regular-season women's contests the network has ever aired (including this year's games). For context, Division I women's basketball teams played roughly 5,500 games last season.
OSU is just the second Big 12 team to be showcased on ABC since the network began airing regular-season women's basketball games in 2021 (Baylor vs. Texas, Dec. 14, 2025).
The first-ever meeting between the programs will feature the No. 1 transfer class in the country and two teams inside ESPN's Way-Too-Early Top 25 (OSU is No. 22; SCAR is No. 1). Oklahoma State is coming off its third NCAA Tournament appearance in four years under head coach Jacie Hoyt, while the Gamecocks finished the 2026 NCAA Tournament as national runners-up and have won three national championships under head coach Dawn Staley.
OSU has been a consistent fixture on the national stage in the Hoyt era, having competed in nine nationally televised regular-season contests since she arrived in 2022.
Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. CT on Sunday, Dec. 6, inside Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C.
