Three Decades
The 2026 season marks the 31st in program history, and over its first three decades, Oklahoma State has built itself into a consistent winner.
• In its first 30 seasons, OSU posted a 352-203-68 (.620) record.
• OSU has made 14 appearances in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. The Cowgirls have earned a NCAA tourney berth in 13 of the last 20 years (beginning in 2006).
• From 2006-11, the Cowgirls earned six-straight NCAA tourney bids and advanced to at least the second round each time, including back-to-back Elite Eight appearances in 2010 and 2011.
• From 2008-11, OSU celebrated four consecutive Big 12 championships — two regular season (2008, '11) and two tournament ('09, '10). The Cowgirls also won regular season titles in 2017 and 2019.
• Six Cowgirls have earned All-America honors, with Yolanda Odenyo, AD Franch, Melinda Mercado, Haley Woodard, Kim Rodriguez and Grace Yochum on that elite list.
Scouting The Opponent
• Arizona is 3-5-3 overall and sits 12th in the Big 12 standings at 0-1-2 in league play.
• Becca Moros is in her sixth season as the Wildcats' head coach and owns a 40-50-14 record.
• OSU is 0-3-0 all time against Arizona; last season, the Wildcats were 3-1 winners in Tuscon.
Home Sweet Home
OSU has won over 70 percent of its games in nine seasons at Neal Patterson Stadium, which opened in 2018. The Cowgirls are 57-19-9 on their current home turf, including a 5-1-2 mark this season.
OSU has gone undefeated at home in seven seasons in its history, the last time coming in 2019.
Squashed The Frogs
OSU's win over 14th-ranked TCU marked its first victory over a ranked opponent since the Cowgirls won at No. 6 Nebraska to open the 2024 season. It snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Horned Frogs and was OSU's first triumph over TCU since 2017.
After going winless in Big 12 play last season, the victory was also the Cowgirls' first in conference play since Oct. 20, 2024, when they won at UCF. After scoring just five goals in 11 league games last season, OSU tallied three in the win over TCU.
Stepping Up The Scoring Punch
Through 11 games, OSU has recorded 23 goals, with 10 Cowgirls finding the back of the net.
In 19 games last season, OSU had just 20 goals with eight different players scoring.
Sharing Is Caring
Emmy Hedden has moved to a new position as a sophomore, and she's making the adjustment from midfielder to wide back nicely.
Hedden has recorded a team-high four assists, which is tied for sixth most in the Big 12. She added her first goal of the season in the win over No. 14 TCU and was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for her performance against the Frogs.
Better In America's Brightest
Keaton Mitchell had a career day in leading the Cowgirls to their first win of the season over SFA.
A transfer from Tennessee, Mitchell had two career goals in 49 games for the Vols. In her second game at OSU, the senior midfielder came off the bench and netted a pair of goals, one in each half, to lead the Cowgirls to the victory over SFA.
Mitchell added a goal and an assist against Southeast Missouri State and had the game-winning goal against No. 14 TCU. Her four goals is tied for the team lead, and she ranks second with nine points.
Sonora Sends It In
Sonora DeFini set scoring records during her high school career in Nebraska, and she has continued to rack up goals at the collegiate level.
DeFini is tied for the team lead with four goals this season, which comes on the heels of her freshman campaign of a year ago when she ranked second on the Cowgirls with four goals. She also had a pair of assists last season and was second on the squad with 10 points.
Through 11 games in 2026, DeFini leads the team with 11 points on four goals and three assists.
Holding It Down
Avery Bass made her first start in an OSU uniform against San Diego State, and the fifth-year senior has secured her spot between the pipes.
In OSU's first four games with Bass as the starter, the Cowgirls went 3-0-1, and she racked up a season-high seven saves to help lead the Pokes to an upset of 14th-ranked TCU on Sept. 17; she earned Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the performance.
Bass transferred to Stillwater for her final collegiate season after four seasons at Division II Central Oklahoma, where she was an all-region performer who posted 22 shutouts and recorded over 200 saves.
