Meylan, Cowgirls smother Texas State in 5-0 win
February 19, 2026 | Cowgirl Softball
SAN MARCOS, Texas – Ruby Meylan pitched a complete game, one-hit shutout and Rosie Davis and Claire Timm drove in two runs apiece to lift the No. 24/19 Oklahoma State softball team to a 5-0 win over Texas State at the River State Classic Thursday.
It was OSU's fourth win in its last five games and improved the Cowgirls to 8-4 on the season. The Bobcats fell to 5-5 on the year.
Meylan (3-3) was dominant in the circle for OSU, allowing only one hit and striking out seven in her first seven-inning complete game of the season. She limited Texas State to only three baserunners all game and needed only 87 pitches to secure the shutout victory. Sun Belt Conference preseason pitcher of the year Madison Azua, fell to 3-4 with the loss.
A veteran-laden team picked to win the Sun Belt Conference this season, Texas State hung around early in the contest, but the Cowgirls got on the board in the third inning thanks to an RBI single from Timm. Timm struck again with another RBI single in the fifth inning to bring the score to 2-0, then OSU blew the game open with a three-run sixth inning that featured an RBI single from Jayden Jones and a two-run single by Rosie Davis.
With OSU banging out 10 hits in the contest, the score could have been more lopsided, but the Cowgirls stranded seven runners on base. The Pokes had runners on in all but two innings in the game.
The Cowgirls return to action with two games tomorrow. First is an 11 a.m. CT start against Brown, followed by a 6:30 p.m. CT matchup with Colorado State.
