February 22, 2026 | Cowboy Tennis
STILLWATER – The 27th-ranked Oklahoma State men's tennis team defeated No. 48 Memphis, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
The Cowboys improve their record to 9-2 on the 2025-26 campaign, bolstering an undefeated home record of 8-0. The Tigers fell to 7-5 with the loss. This is the second time in the last three seasons that head coach Dustin Taylor has started off 8-0 at the Greenwood Tennis Center and he holds a +49 point differential at home this year.
The Cowboys got off to a hot start, claiming their seventh doubles point in eight home matches.
Court three saw freshman Haydar Gokpinar and Nicolas Kobelt swiftly take down Memphis' Lasse Rensing and Leondro Zgraggen, 6-3. Just a couple of moments later, OSU's Alessio Basile and Ian Bracks took care of court two and clinched the doubles point with a victory over Obrad Markovski and Marko Milosavljevic, 6-3. With the doubles point settled, Derek Pham and Charlie Valentine's close match against No. 57 Marcos Castro Fabra and Sam Reeve went unfinished at four games a piece.
Oklahoma State carried their undefeated home singles record into the match with the Tigers and kept it alive with the help of wins from Valentine, Kobelt and Gokpinar.
Valentine made quick work of Memphis' Keoni Puig McCallan, 6-1, 6-2. The Amsterdam-native improves to 5-0 to start his Cowboy career and has yet to drop a set.
Following Valentine, Kobelt easily earned another point for the Cowboys against Maxime Dubouch, 6-3, 6-3. Kobelt, having not lost a match on court two, improves his season to 8-1.
Gokpinar clinched the match with a quick victory against Memphis' Sean Nuallain, 6-1, 6-4, bringing his freshman record to 9-0, having only dropped one set this season. Gokpinar took the clinching point for the fourth straight contest (Arkansas, Tulsa, MTSU and Memphis).
Courts one, three and four went unfinished but were looking good for the Cowboys. The Cowboys will head north for a pair of matches in Lincoln, Nebraska, with the first coming against Omaha on Thursday at 6 p.m.
