Cowboys Head To Mexico For Cabo Collegiate

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will be back in action this week when it competes at the Cabo Collegiate at Twin Dolphin Club.
The Cowboys will be one of 16 teams in action at the par-71, 7,156-yard layout. The 54-hole event will get underway on Sunday and be contested through Tuesday with 18 holes being played each day.
Play will get underway on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and OSU will be grouped with Arizona, Arizona State and California.
OSU finished second at last year's event with Preston Stout firing rounds of 67, 69 and 69 for an 8-under tally of 205 to share medalist honors. He became the second Cowboy to claim medalist honors at the event, joining 2019 champion Austin Eckroat.
The Cowboys have won the event on three occasions, reeling off three consecutive victories in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
In 2019, OSU cruised to an eight-shot victory over the field with its 32-under total of 820. The Cowboys' 2018 victory also came by eight shots after the Pokes carded a 14-under tally of 838. OSU's first win at the event was a 10-shot victory in 2017 courtesy of a 29-under score of 823.
Eckroat captured medalist honors the final year the event was contested at Querencia Golf Club. He fired a 14-under total of 199 to finish two shots clear of teammate Matthew Wolff.
This year's lineup will consist of Stout, fellow juniors Eric Lee, Gaven Lane and Ethan Fang as well as sophomore Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson.
