April 14, 2026 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has signed one of the nation's most sought-after prospects with the addition of transfer Liv McGill it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.
"Liv is arguably the most exciting player to watch in all of college basketball. She has elite quickness and an unbelievable finishing package around the rim. Liv can score at all three levels, but she is so much more. She has great court vision and can deliver a pass on a dime. Her speed and athleticism allow her to jump passing lanes on the other end of the floor," Hoyt said.
"Liv has courage and is not afraid to be herself and is very comfortable in her own skin. She is a leader and I believe she has the talent and heart to take our program to heights it has not reached before."
A 5-9 guard, McGill was tabbed as one of the top five portal players in the country by CBS Sports (No. 2), ESPN.com (No. 4), USA Today (No. 3) and Yahoo! Sports (No. 2).
The Minneapolis, Minn., native spent her first two seasons at Florida where she received honorable mention All-America status from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association and the Associated Press this past year. Additionally, she was named a first-team All-SEC pick and became the first-ever Gator to be named the USBWA National Player of the Week.
This past season, McGill averaged 22.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, while starting all 31 of the games in which she played. She finished the year ranked ninth nationally with her 6.3 assists per game and her scoring average ranked 11th in the country.
McGill was named to the SEC All-Freshman squad after leading Florida with her 16.5 points and 5.2 assists per game. Her 611 points set the program's freshman record for a single season as well.
McGill enjoyed a decorated prep career that saw her earn McDonald's All-America status and a five-star rating in the 2024 SportsCenter NEXT 100. She also appeared on Team USA's U18 and U19 FIBA World Cup rosters.
A 2024 Jordan Brand Classic Game invitee, McGill led Hopkins High School to consecutive state finals, including a state title in 2022.
