Cowgirl Softball clinches trip to NCAA Super Regionals with 11-5 win over Stanford
May 17, 2026 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – A six-run fifth inning propelled the No. 15/15 Oklahoma State Softball team to an 11-5 victory over No. 14/17 Stanford at Cowgirl Stadium on Sunday afternoon, securing OSU a spot in the NCAA Super Regionals.
The win improved Oklahoma State to 41-15 overall, while Stanford is now 39-15.
Amanda Hasler led the Cowgirl offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, three runs scored and a walk. Lexi McDonald reached base four times, posting a 1-for-2 line with two runs scored, two walks and a hit-by-pitch. Claire Timm went 1-for-4 with four RBI by way of a fifth-inning grand slam.
A solo home run in the first inning briefly gave Stanford the lead before a fielding error scored Hasler in the second inning, evening the game at 1-1.
An inning later, McDonald's two-out walk set the table for Hasler to send a double into left-center field for Oklahoma State's first lead of the game. The hit marked Hasler's 100th RBI as a Cowgirl.
Karli Godwin extended the OSU advantage to 3-1 in the fourth inning, scoring Aubrey Jones on a sacrifice fly. Stanford soon answered with a sacrifice fly of its own to pull the game back within a run after four frames.
The Cowgirls responded with a six-run fifth inning to break the game open. The duo of McDonald and Hasler continued their productive afternoon, as McDonald doubled and Hasler launched a towering home run to deep left field to give the Pokes a 5-2 lead.
Madison Hoffman and Tia Warsop then each drew walks before Aubrey Jones' infield single loaded the bases with one out. Claire Timm seized the opportunity with a 222-foot shot to deep right field for her second career grand slam and the team's 67th home run of the season. Timm's bases-clearing bomb gave the Cowgirls a commanding 9-2 lead with two innings left to play.
Oklahoma State carried an 11-3 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning after adding another two runs thanks to a pair of wild pitches. A two-run home run allowed Stanford to avoid the eight-run rule, but Cowgirl starter Ruby Meylan sat the Cardinal down on six pitches in the game's final inning to punch OSU's ticket to the Super Regionals.
Meylan turned in a complete game against Stanford for the second day in a row, earning the win to improve to 29-7. Meylan struck out five and allowed only three earned runs over seven innings of work.
Zoe Prystajko took the loss for Stanford, falling to 20-7.
Oklahoma State will face Nebraska in a best-of-three NCAA Super Regional series in Lincoln this weekend, with a trip to the Women's College World Series on the line.
