Cowboys Earn NCAA Berth With Runner-Up Finish

Final Results
MARANA, Ariz. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team advanced to the NCAA Championship with its runner-up showing on Wednesday at the NCAA Marana Regional at The Gallery Golf Club.
With the top five teams advancing, OSU's runner-up finishes secured the program's 77th championship appearance in 79 possible seasons.
The fifth-ranked Cowboys finished with a 10-under 278 to finish at 35-under 829 at the par-72, 7,317-yard layout. Arizona finished first at 49-under 815 to finish first. No. 8 LSU was third at 834, while Duke and Arkansas State shared fourth place at 840 to advance as well.
A day after finishing one shot shy of matching the school's 18-hole scoring record. with his 63, junior Eric Lee posted a 69 to finish at 15-under 201 and share medalist honors with three other players.
Lee's second victory as a Cowboy also made him OSU's first NCAA Regional medalist since Eugenio Chacarra in 2022 and its 13th overall.Â
After opening with a bogey, Lee moved back to level par for the day with a birdie at the fourth. He would close his outward nine with a birdie-eagle finish to turn in 3-under 33. After moving to 4-under for the day with a birdie at the 11th, Lee would offset a bogey at the 15th with a birdie at the 16th before a closing bogey at the 18th.
Junior Gaven Lane posted his low round of the event with a 69 to move into a tie for 14th place at 209.
Junior Preston Stout closed with a 72 to finish at 210 and tied for 18th place, while junior Ethan Fang fired a 4-under 68 to climb into a tie for 25th place at 213.
Sophomore Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson rounded out the starting five with a 72 to share 43rd place at 218.
The defending NCAA champions will look to capture the program's 13th national title at the NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., which is slated to take place from May 29-June 3.
