Cowgirl Soccer falls at Houston

HOUSTON – Oklahoma State dropped a 1-0 contest to Houston Sunday at the Carl Lewis International Complex.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 5-4-2 overall and 1-2-0 in Big 12 play, while UH improved to 7-1-3 and 3-0-0 in the league.
The Cougars finished with an 11-7 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. OSU goalie Avery Bass recorded three saves in the contest.
The lone goal in the match came late in the opening half when a cross into the middle of the box resulted in a header by Skylar Miller that found the back of the net in the 41st minute.
UH held the one-goal lead at intermission, along with a 6-3 advantage in shots and a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.
In the second half, the Cougars tallied five shots to four for OSU, but the Cowgirls did not put a shot on frame and could not find the equalizer.
The Cowgirls return to action Friday when they host Arizona at Neal Patterson Stadium.
