STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team improved to 3-0 after handing Centenary a 91-41 loss on Saturday afternoon in front of 1,996 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Eight minutes into the contest, the Cowgirls led by just two at 12-10 before using a 23-4 run over the next eight-minute stretch to begin to pull away. OSU shot 50 percent from the floor during the first half to lead 43-19 at the break.
In the second half, the Cowgirls extended their lead despite losing sophomore Toni Young, who had recorded double-doubles in the squad's first two games. The Del City, Okla., native fouled out at the 13:35 mark after playing just 10 minutes in the contest.
Without Young for much of the day, several OSU freshmen stepped up in her absence.
Freshman Vicky McIntyre led OSU with a career-high 19 points on a 9-of-12 performance from the floor in just 17 minutes of action. Classmate Tiffany Bias reached double figures for the second-straight game, chipping in with 13 points of her own.
Despite cracking the 90-point plateau, McIntyre and Bias were the only Cowgirls to reach double figures. With the Cowgirls spread the wealth offensively, all 12 players got into the scoring column. OSU's unselfish play also resulted in 27 assists, including seven from freshman Jenni Bryan.
Fellow freshman Carissa Crutchfield added nine points and five assists as well off the bench.
Ne-Ne Cook led Centenary with 16 points in the contest.
The Cowgirls will close out their four-game homestand on Monday at 7 p.m. when they host UT Arlington.
