Cowboys Hang On To Defeat DePaul In Bahamas
November 20, 2022 | Cowboy Basketball
Bahamas – Oklahoma State took down Big East foe DePaul 82-78 on Sunday in the Cowboy's final game in the Bahamas.
The Cowboys started the game scoring at will, racking up 44 points in the first half on 57 percent shooting from the floor.
DePaul took the lead for the first time in the game with 5:04 to play, and the two teams battled back-and-forth all the way to the final buzzer.
Kalib Boone led the scoring charge for the Cowboys, tallying 17 points, but fouled out with four and a half minutes remaining.
Three other Cowboys scored in double-figures, including the season's leading scorer Avery Anderson III, as well as John-Michael Wright and Tyreek Smith.
DePaul's Eral Penn missed a corner-three with :07 remaining that would've given the Blue Devils a one-point lead.
Wright made the ensuing free-throws to extend the lead to four and put the game out of reach.
The Cowboys improved to 3-2 on the season and head coach Mike Boynton captured his 90th career win as the head man in Stillwater.
Oklahoma State returns home to play the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Friday, Nov. 25 in a black-out game in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
