Opening Tips:
- The Oklahoma State Cowboys look to bounce back from their first loss of the season Thursday night when they host the Kansas City Roos inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
- The Pokes shot a season-low 38% in Saturday's 85-76 loss to Oklahoma at the Paycom Center. Prior to it, they had scored at least 84 points in every game of their 9-0 start and had topped 50% in five of the previous six games.
- Kansas City (2-10) is also coming off loss to the Sooners -- 89-67 on Tuesday night in Norman.
- This is the 10th all-time meeting between the programs and the sixth in Stillwater. OSU leads 9-0, winning each of the past eight encounters by double figures. The most recent came in November 2019, a 69-51 Cowboy victory.
- The Cowboys are 20-4 under Steve Lutz inside GIA, including a perfect 7-0 this season. They're averaging 93.1 points and shooting 50% on the home rims.
- Overall, OSU ranks among the nation's top-25Â scoring teams (21st, 89.8 ppg).
- According to KenPom, OSU has one of the fastest teams in college basketball (No. 9 in adjusted tempo), fueled by one of its deepest rosters (13th in bench minutes, 43.4%). Reserves are averaging a Big 12-best 36.7 points per game.
- Five Cowboys average better than 11 points, led by sophomore Vyctorius Miller (15.6 ppg). The LSU transfer has made 50% of his threes (19/38) and nearly 90% of his free throws (35/39, .897).
- Senior guard Anthony Roy (15.1 ppg) has also been a dangerous three-point threat, knocking down 17-of-44 (.386) over seven games.
- Senior forward Parsa Fallah (13.1 ppg) is the team's leading rebounder (5.8) and ranks 10th nationally in field goal percentage (.667).
- Junior point guard Jaylen Curry (13.5 ppg) owns a 4.10 A:TO ratio (15th nationally).
- Curry (5.1 apg) and senior guard Kanye Clary (4.9 apg) have combined to average just over 10 assists per game.
- The Cowboys' last action before the holiday breaks comes this Sunday against Cal State Fullerton (1 p.m. CT, ESPN+).

Last Time on Cowboy Basketball:
Dec. 17, 2025 in OKC | Oklahoma 85, OSU 76
- Oklahoma spoiled OSU's unbeaten start with an 85-76 victory at the Paycom Center.
- Kanye Clary finished with a team-high 18 points for OSU, which committed just five turnovers, and Christian Coleman (17 points) matched a career-best with four blocks.
- The Cowboys shot just 38% from the field, due in part to their struggles around the rim. Playing the majority of the day without injured center Parsa Fallah, they made just 10 of 26 layups.
- Xzayvier Brown (21 points) and Nijel Pack (18) led the OU scoring.
- The Sooners hit nine first-half threes to build a 41-35 halftime lead and finished the game 13-of-33 from deep.
- Clary and Coleman combined for 30 second-half points to rally the Pokes. Coleman dunked on back-to-back possessions to put OSU up 53-51 with 11:32 to play.
- The Sooner answered with more timely shooting, knocking down 11 of their last 16 shots to close out a fourth straight Bedlam win.
Â
Chasing No. 10:
- The Cowboys are in search of their 10th victory of the season.
- Only three teams in OSU history have reached double-digit wins earlier than Dec. 18.
- By comparison, the 2024-25 and 2023-24 teams didn't record a 10th victory until Jan. 18 and Feb. 3, respectively.

Also Trending:
- OSU's seven-game home winning streak is its longest in four years.
- Cade Cunningham and 2020-21 Cowboys won their last six at home, and the streak reached seven with a victory in the 2021-22 opener.
- A win over Kansas City would give OSU its first eight-game home winning streak in more than five years.
- OSU is 21-0 under Steve Lutz when putting at least 80 points on the scoreboard.
- The Cowboys have thrived in second halves, averaging 47.8 points on 52.5% shooting while limiting opponents to 39.0 and 40.9%.
- OSU is 21-2 under Lutz when leading at halftime, 19-4 when outshooting its opponent and 20-5 when winning the rebounding battle.
- Christian Coleman scored a season-high 17 points in the OU game. It was his fifth this season with at least 15 points.
- Jaylen Curry has played his last 59 minutes, 07 seconds without a turnover going back to the second half of the Dec. 2 Sam Houston game. He's handed out 10 assists in that span.
- Parsa Fallah is the only player who has started all 10 contests. The former Southern Utah and Oregon State standout enters the day just 24 points shy of 1,000 for his NCAA career. His next contest will be the 100th.
- Anthony Roy missed the first three games to a groin injury but has scored in double-figures in all seven games since his return. He has converted 14 straight free throws attempts, last missing against South Florida.

- 1934 -- Henry Iba notched the first of his program record 655 victories, defeating the University of Wichita on the road, 29-22.
- 2002 -- Ivan McFarlin made 11-of-15 shots on his way to 24 points and 15 rebounds in an 85-61 win over UMKC's Kangaroos inside Gallagher-Iba.
Â
Scouting the Kangaroos:
- Kansas City is in its fourth season under former New Mexico State and UNLV coach Marvin Menzies.
- The Kangaroos (13-20, 4-12 last year) were picked sixth out of nine teams in the Summit League preseason poll. They're led by junior guard Jayson Petty, a preseason all-conference selection, who averages 11.8 points per game.
- Petty is the lone starter back from a year ago, joined by a mix of transfers and returning depth.
- CJ Evans, a 5-foot-11 point guard who led the NJCAA in assists last season at Ranger Junior College, is averaging 11.6 points and a team-best 3.8 dimes in his first season with the Kangaroos.
- 6-foot-10 Hawaii transfer Jerome Palm (9.3 ppg) is the team's top rebounder at 7.4 per contest.
- Kansas City is averaging 69.3 points per game and surrendering 81.7.
- The Roos are shooting just 28.6% from deep (24.9% against Division I opponents) but have made nearly half of their 2-point attempts (.488).
- Kansas City (2-10) is still seeking its first win over Division I opponent and will be looking to snap a 15-game road losing streak that dates back to last season. A challenging non-conference schedule includes road games at Texas, TCU, Oklahoma and now Oklahoma State.
Â
Matchup Mashup:
- This is OSU's second encounter with a team from the Summit League. The Cowboys opened the season with a 95-71 victory over Oral Roberts.
- Historically speaking, Kansas City's Municipal Auditorium (1936-Present) is one of the few active home courts that can rival Gallagher-Iba Arena. In its heyday, Municipal was a regular host to major events, including the NCAA Final Four. OSU has played more games there (71 total) than any other venue outside the state of Oklahoma, just ahead of KU's Allen Fieldhouse (67). That total includes 11 postseason contests, highlighted by the 1945, 1946, 1949 and 1951 national semifinals.
Â
A Cowboy win would...
- Push their record to 10-1.
- Make them 8-0 at home this season.
- Be their eighth consecutive home win -- the longest streak by a Cowboy team in more than five years.
- Make them 21-5 in GIA under Steve Lutz.
- Be Lutz's 96th career victory as a head coach.
- Boost their all-time record against Kansas City to 10-0 (6-0 in Stillwater).
- Up their all-time GIA record to 878-268 (.766), including 462-60 (.885) in regular season non-conference games.
A Cowboy loss would...
- Be their second straight after a 9-0 start.
- Be their first ever to Kansas City (9-1).
- Be their first at home this season, snapping a seven-game winning streak.

Up Next: Cal State Fullerton
Sunday, Dec. 21 | 1 p.m. CT (ESPN+)

- It's "Hoops for the Holidays" inside GIA with free admission for kids 12-and-under.
- The Titans (5-7) are one of only a handful of teams that have played faster than OSU. They're No. 3 in KenPom's adjusted tempo rankings (OSU is No. 9).
- The third all-time meeting between the programs will be the first in more than half-a-century. The schools split a pair of games in Stillwater in 1968 and 1972.
