STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State women's basketball team will open the season at No. 22 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, the AP announced today.
OSU was also ranked No. 22 in last year's preseason poll, marking the first time the Pokes have been ranked in back-to-back preseason AP polls since the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, when they were ranked No. 21 in both years.
OSU finished the 2025-26 season receiving votes in the final edition of last year's AP Poll after posting a 24-10 record that included the program's third NCAA Tournament berth under head coach Jacie Hoyt and the first NCAA Tournament win since 2020-21.
Last week, the Pokes were ranked No. 21 in ESPN.com's preseason Top 25 after being picked to win the Big 12 Conference in the Preseason Coaches Poll for the first time in program history a week prior.
Hoyt's squad features the Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year Audi Crooks, the Preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Liv McGill and 2025 WBCA Honorable Mention All-American Stailee Heard.
The Cowgirls open the season with an exhibition contest against Langston at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
