Cowgirls climb in national polls

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team rose in the national rankings following a dominant weekend at the River State Classic. The Cowgirls are ranked No. 16 by ESPN.com/USA Softball and No. 21 by the GoRout/NFCA Coaches Poll.

The Cowgirls finished the tournament with a 5-0 record, including four run-rule victories, and outscored their opponents by a combined margin of 58-1.
A trio of Cowgirls picked up Big 12 weekly recognition for their performances over the weekend, with Ruby Meylan earning Pitcher of the Week honors, Claire Timm receiving Player of the Week recognition and Gabby Castillo earning Co-Freshman of the Week distinction.
OSU is back in action for the OSU/Tulsa Invitational, where it'll play six games in four days at Cowgirl Stadium. The games begin on Thursday, February 26, against No. 9/4 Nebraska at 6 p.m. CT in Stillwater. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
