Cowgirl Softball sweeps Big 12 weekly awards
February 24, 2026 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball's Ruby Meylan, Claire Timm and Gabby Castillo all received Big 12 recognition for their standout performances this past weekend, the conference announced today.
Meylan earned Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week distinction, Timm was tabbed the Player of the Week and Castillo received Co-Freshman of the Week honors. It's the third time in the past two seasons that OSU has swept the weekly conference awards, and the 12th time in program history.
Meylan was unstoppable in the circle in her two appearances at the River State Classic. Following her ninth career one-hitter in a complete-game shutout against Texas State on February 19, the Omaha, Neb., native spun her first collegiate no-hitter the next day against Colorado State, striking out five with no walks issued on just 46 pitches in the run-rule victory.
Meylan tallied 12 strikeouts on the weekend and held opposing batters to a .027 batting average. This week's recognition marked the fourth Big 12 weekly award in her two seasons at OSU, and the sixth conference weekly recognition of her career (extending back to her time at Washington).
Timm was a similar force at the plate in San Marcos, notching at least a hit and an RBI in all five of OSU's contests. She batted .727 (8-for-11) and slugged at a 1.455 clip with four extra-base hits and nine RBIs on the weekend. The senior outfielder became the first player in program history to record multiple games in a career with two or more triples after her 3-for-3 day against Kansas City on February 19. She hit a pair of triples against Penn State last season.
On the season, Timm paces the team with a .485 batting average and ranks third in the Big 12 in OPS (1.376). It's the first weekly recognition of Timm's career.
Castillo thrived in her home state of Texas as she reached base in all but one of her 10 plate appearances this weekend (5 H, 3 BB, 1 HBP). Hailing from Richmond, Texas, she was playing less than three hours away from her hometown when she recorded her first collegiate hit and RBI against Kansas City. Castillo finished with a .833 batting average to go with a double and five RBI.
The Cowgirls return to Stillwater this week for six games in four days, beginning with the home opener against No. 9/4 Nebraska at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, February 26, inside Cowgirl Stadium. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Varsity Network app. For tickets, visit okstate.com or call 877-ALL-4-OSU.
