Cowboy Basketball's Roy selected for 2026 PIT
April 15, 2026 | Cowboy Basketball
Oklahoma State's Anthony Roy will take part in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (PIT), Apr. 15-18 in Portsmouth, Va.
Established in 1953, the PIT is a four-day, 12-game tournament that offers top college seniors the chance to showcase their skills in front of professional scouts, including representatives from all 30 NBA teams.
The list of PIT alumni includes Rick Barry, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe, Dave Cowens, Scottie Pippen, Tim Hardaway, Dennis Rodman, Jimmy Butler and more. Roy is the first Cowboy to compete in the event since Jeffrey Carroll in 2018.
Fans can watch live streaming of all games through the event's website -- portsmouthinvitational.com.
Roy's team, Mike Duman, Inc., is guaranteed three games. The first is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT Thursday. A win moves them into Friday's 7 p.m. CT semifinal, while a loss would drop them into the consolation bracket (Friday, 2:30 p.m. CT). The event concludes Saturday with a placement round.
The 6-foot-5 Roy was the Cowboys' leading scorer in 2025-26, averaging 16.7 points per game, and ranked among the Big 12's top-five in both three-point field goals (90), three-point percentage (.390) and free throw percentage (.857).
Roy is one of 64 players selected to compete and one of nine representing the Big 12 Conference, joined by Tamin Lipsey (Iowa State), Melvin Council Jr. (Kansas), Donovan Atwell (Texas Tech), Tre White (Kansas), Riley Kugel (UCF), Themus Fulks (UCF), Nate Johnson (Kansas St.) and Moe Odum (Arizona St.).
