Cowboy Need to Know: Didn’t surrender a single takedown during his undefeated freshman campaign.
2025-26 (Freshman Year): Completed one of the most dominant true freshman seasons in college wrestling at 141 lbs … Completed an undefeated season as a freshman, joining his teammate, Forrest, as the first undefeated true freshman since 1947 … Became one of five Cowboy wrestlers to win an NCAA individual title as a true freshman … His record went unblemished, going 24-0 overall and 15-0 in duals, with 10 wins coming via bonus points, all while not surrendering a takedown … Led the Cowboys in a multitude of categories: overall wins (24), dual wins (15), ranked wins (15 - tied with Doucet) and pins (4 - tied with Doucet) … Nine of his 15 ranked wins were against wrestlers ranked in the top 10 … Became the third Cowboy to take home the Hammer Award, given to the NCAA Champion who had to go through the toughest weight class … Broke out at the National Duals Invitational, going 4-0, with three of the four wins coming against top-10 opponents … His work in Tulsa led to his first Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors … Made a statement in Lincoln with his pin of Nebraska’s No. 3 Brock Hardy, whom he major decisioned just weeks prior in Tulsa … Got the better of Iowa State’s Anthony Echemendia, both in Stillwater in dual action, and in the Big 12 Championship via a 2-1 tiebreaker to claim a conference title … Named the No. 2 seed at the NCAA Championships, cruising past multiple All-Americans to the final against Ohio State’s undefeated and top-seeded Jesse Mendez where he took down Mendez with 22 seconds left to win a tight championship bout (Dec., 4-1 SV-1) … Named to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team.
High School: Wrestled for coach Anthony Leon at Sunnyside High School in Tucson, Arizona … Was the sixth-ranked wrestler in the class with a Fargo National title, Super 32 championship and a Who’s Number One title … Garnered a 140-2 record over his time with the program and tallied four state championships.
