Big 12 release completes 2026-27 Cowboy Basketball schedule

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State will open and close Big 12 Conference play at home this season.
The Cowboys' 2026-27 league schedule, released Thursday by the conference office, opens Saturday, Jan. 2 against Colorado and wraps up Saturday, March 6 with a visit from Arizona State.
Tipoff times and television assignments will be announced at a later date.
OSU will face each of the league's other 15 schools at least once during Big 12 play, with home-and-home matchups against Iowa State, TCU and Utah completing the 18-game loop.
Cincinnati, Texas Tech, UCF and Arizona will also visit Gallagher-Iba Arena, while OSU's road-only opponents are Baylor, BYU, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State and West Virginia.
Ten of OSU's 18 conference games are against teams that qualified for last season's NCAA Tournament, and seven come against opponents that finished among the top 25 in the final 2026 NCAA NET rankings. That group includes Final Four participant Arizona, which visits Gallagher-Iba Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
The Big 12 is once again expected to rank among the nation's premier conferences after sending eight teams to the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Three advanced to the Sweet 16, highlighted by Arizona's Final Four run. The league also produced a record 13 selections in the 2026 NBA Draft, including nine first-round picks.
After posting 20 wins and earning a second consecutive postseason appearance, OSU enters year three under head coach Steve Lutz with the Big 12's top-ranked transfer portal haul, according to On3, and a consensus top-10 high school signing class.
Fans can get an early preview of the Cowboys with free admission to preseason exhibitions against New Mexico (2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 11) and Tulsa (2:30 p.m., Homecoming Friday, Oct. 23).
The regular season begins Monday, Nov. 2 against Incarnate Word.
Among the nonconference highlights are a Nov. 12 visit to Texas A&M, two games at the Charleston Classic against Minnesota (Nov. 20) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 22), and December home dates with Grand Canyon and perennial NCAA Tournament participant Saint Mary's.
The Cowboys will also meet Oklahoma in Oklahoma City on Dec. 12 and Northwestern in Tulsa on Dec. 20.
