Oklahoma State Game Notes
• The Basics
• Oklahoma State put together a complete 40-minute performance and rolled to a 73-62 victory at Texas A&M to end its six-game losing skid and help the Big 12 keep possession of the Big 12/SEC Challenge trophy. The Cowboys had 22 assists and shot 55.1 percent from the floor, which are both season highs. OSU now turns its attention to No. 3/3 Kansas, which enters Gallagher-Iba Arena on the heels of a 74-68 win over Tennessee on Saturday. The game is being played on the 19th anniversary of the tragic 2001 plane crash that killed 10 members of the Cowboy basketball family. OSU made a vow following the tragedy to forever Remember The Ten.
• On the Air
• The Cowboys and Jayhawks will square off on ESPN's Big Monday game with Bob Wischusen, Fran Fraschilla and Kris Budden on the call. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m., and the webcast can be seen on the WatchESPN app or ESPN.com. As always, Dave Hunziker and John Holcomb will have the Cowboy Radio Network call.
• Cowboy Quick Hitters
Cameron McGriff slammed his way into the Oklahoma State 1,000-point club - literally. The high-flying Cowboy entered the Texas A&M game with 999 career points, and flew in to clean up a Kalib Boone miss with a put-back dunk to become the 43rd member of the OSU 1,000-point club. Back on Jan. 6, Lindy Waters III scored his 1,000th point, which gives OSU 1,000-point teammates for the first time since 2014 (Marcus Smart & Le'Bryan Nash). This is the ninth time in OSU history that two OSU teammates have reached the 1,000-point mark in the same season.
• Dziagwa's New Role
The OSU coaches have asked Thomas Dziagwa to come off the bench and be a shooting spark for the Cowboys, and he's flourishing in this new role despite starting every game since his freshman year. Over the last three games, the senior is averaging 13.3 points on 12-of-26 (.462) shooting from 3-point. Among all active players nationwide, Dziagwa's 41.2 career 3-point shooting percentage ranks 10th among all players with at least 200 makes. The Cowboy senior recently connected on his 200th career 3-pointer, becoming just the seventh OSU player to reach that mark. Dziagwa ranks third in the Big 12 with a clip of 42.2 percent from 3-point this year, and his 2.56 makes per game ranks third. He's hit 221 career 3s on 41.2 percent from downtown, which ranks seventh and eighth in school history, respectively.
• The Series With The Jayhawks
This will be the 176th meeting between Oklahoma State and Kansas, which trails only the Bedlam matchup with Oklahoma (237 meetings) as OSU's longest standing rivalry. This will be the 35th consecutive meeting in which the Jayhawks have been ranked inside the Associated Press top-25. KU is currently ranked No. 3 in the country in the AP poll. Kansas leads the overall series to 116-59, including a slim 37-35 edge in Stillwater. However, OSU has a 35-34 margin inside Gallagher-Iba Arena, which opened with a 21-15 win for Mr. Henry Iba's Aggies over the Phog Allen coached Jayhawks on Dec. 9, 1938.
• Success Against Kansas
No other program has had as much recent success against Kansas as Oklahoma State, which has eight wins over the Jayhawks since 2008. OSU has won four of the last six games against KU in Gallagher-Iba Arena, including the famous 2018 sweep of the Jayhawks - the first by any program since 2001. Oklahoma State's last eight wins over Kansas have been unranked Cowboys teams upsetting a Jayhawks squad ranked No. 8 or better in the AP poll. In fact, OSU pulled off an improbable upset in 2016 when a 12-win Cowboys squad took down No. 3 Kansas, 86-67.
• McGriff At His Best
Cowboy senior Cameron McGriff has always been at his best against the Jayhawks. McGriff has three career games of 19 points or more against KU, and is averaging 14.6 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 49.1 percent from the floor over the last five meetings. In seven career games against KU, McGriff is averaging 10.4 points, 5.3 boards and 47.7 percent shooting.

• Cowboy Quick Hitters
- OSU recorded a season-high 22 assists on 27 made baskets on Saturday at Texas A&M. That assist-to-field goal ratio of 0.82 is tied for the 22nd best performance in program history and the 22 dimes are the most by a Cowboy team since 2017.
- Jonathan Laurent entered last week with one double-digit scoring performance in an OSU uniform, but busted out for 13 and 12-point games on 9-of-14 (.643) shooting at Iowa State and Texas A&M.
- The Cowboys, who are now 3-3 on the road this year, have now out-rebounded their last three opponents and have limited their last five opponents to 4.6 fast-break points per game.
- Yor Anei blocked four shots at Texas A&M, which is his 13th career four-block performance. Only three players in OSU history have more four-block games, and they all played at least 121 games.
